Generals fall 2-1 to Jacksonville at the Ballpark at Jackson, Monday

Following a 2-1 loss to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at the Ballpark at Jackson, Monday, the Jackson Generals take a day off before opening a six-game series against the Tennessee Smokies in Kodak.

Left fielder Stuart Ijames produced the Generals only run of the game when he hit his fourth home run of the season in the fourth inning.

The Generals, the Double A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, managed eight hits off Jacksonville pitching.

Second baseman Travis Denker, catcher Michael Perez and right fielder Victor Reyes had two hits each in four at bats.

Taylor Clarke, who lost for the fourth time in 10 decisions, was the starting pitcher for the Generals.

The Generals (40-35, 3-2 second half) return home Tuesday, July 4, to begin a five-game series against Birmingham.
