Gibson County’s Carly Thompson named Jackson State Community College female ‘Athlete of the Week’. Thompson helped lead the Pioneers to two victories in the district tournament and finished with 84 assists and 27 digs.
“We tried to play together as much as possible, those assists wouldn’t be possible without hitters and passers. We just want to be playing great as a team as we get into the postseason. Its a surprise, normally you see the big hitters get this type of recognition. It feels nice to be recognized and I have to thank my hitters and passers for helping me get this award.” – Carly Thompson Gibson County High School
‘We have pushed ourselves this year, playing some really great talent. Carly means the world to this team, she’s so much more than just the setter. She’s a leader, she’s so vocal, she’s level headed and keeps everone else level headed.’ – Coach Katie Lewis Gibson County High School
