WHAT
The Jackson Symphony will present Dolly Parton’s Threads: My Songs in Symphony, a one-of-a-kind multimedia concert experience celebrating the music, stories and remarkable legacy of one of America’s most beloved artists.
Created and produced by Dolly Parton together with Schirmer Theatrical and Sony Music Publishing, Threads: My Songs in Symphony brings Dolly’s songs and the stories behind them to the concert hall through new orchestrations by David Hamilton, live orchestra, guest vocalists and multimedia featuring Dolly on screen.
The program takes audiences on a visual and musical journey through her life and career, featuring some of her most iconic songs, including “Jolene,” “Coat of Many Colors” and “I Will Always Love You,” along with personal favorites and selections connected to her Broadway musical.
Dolly described the project as deeply personal, saying, “The threads of my life are woven together through my songs.” She created Threads as a new way to share both her music and the story of the life with audiences.
The Jackson Symphony’s performance will feature guest vocalists Katelyn Drye, Kiley Phillips and Julie Williams alongside the orchestra, making the evening both a celebration of Dolly’s extraordinary body of work and a tribute to the enduring impact of her music.
