Highlights from the August 2026 Labor Force Estimates

• The Seasonally Adjusted Unemployment Rate for Tennessee remained at 3.4% between July and August.
• The Seasonally Adjusted Unemployment Rate for the United States remained at 4.1% between July and August.
• The unemployment rate increased in 45 counties in August and was under 5% in 89 counties.
• Sevier and Cheatham counties had the lowest unemployment rate at 2.9% while Hancock and Perry counties had the highest rate at 5.5%.
