Jayden Butler, a senior all-purpose football player at Haywood High School, accomplished more in one half of Friday’s game against Craigmont than most players do in a season.
Butler, selected as the male ‘Athlete of the Week’ presented by Jackson State Community College, accounted for 332 all-purpose yards and scored five touchdowns in Haywood’s 61-0 win that moved the Tomcats to 2-1.
He rushed for 50 yards, returned punts for 116 total yards, while adding 166 total yards after pass interceptions – but didn’t step foot on the field for the second half.
