7 Brew Coffee took its first official step toward opening in Jackson this week.
The Jackson Board of Zoning Appeals voted 2-1 Monday to approve a special exception for R & C Enterprises to build and operate a drive-thru 7 Brew at 2050 North Highland Avenue, in the O-C (Office-Center) district. The request went before a three-member board.
The lone no vote came over traffic. The proposed site sits close to the Tinker Hill / Bon Air Circle light, and the dissenting member said extra drive-thru traffic there would create a bad congestion problem.
Plans show the usual small 7 Brew box: drive-thru only, about 510 square feet, eight parking spaces.
