Signage for First Watch is up at the former Red Robin, 1025 Vann Drive in The Columns shopping area.
No opening date has been announced yet, but work on the daytime café is progressing nicely.
First Watch specializes in made-to-order breakfast, brunch, and lunch (typically 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) with items like Million Dollar Bacon, fresh juices, and seasonal specialties.
Jackson will be getting its first location of the national chain once the conversion is complete.

Water tank with JUD logo on Crawford Springs Road getting makeover
A 500,000-gallon elevated storage water tank bearing the Jackson Utility Division logo is in the process of being cleaned, repaired, and painted – interior and exterior – at 1039 Crawford Springs Road.
Constructed in 1999, the water tank is the last active one with the JUD logo and one of 12 currently in service for Jackson Energy Authority that provides water storage for customer consumption and fire protection.
Jackson Utility Division became Jackson Energy Authority June 5, 2001.
The Dream Center of Jackson receives $10,000 Toyota grant to power job readiness and tech education
Jackson, TN – The Dream Center of Jackson is thrilled to announce it has received a generous $10,000 technology grant from Toyota Tennessee. This funding will be used to purchase new laptops, printers, software programs, and other equipment for the center’s computer lab. Toyota also provided 40 brand new clear backpacks to support the children of families currently residing at the center.
By utilizing the grant to upgrade the center’s computer lab with modern equipment, residents will have the resources they need to complete schoolwork, apply for jobs, build digital skills, and work toward long-term success. Additionally, the clear backpacks ensure that the school-aged children staying at the center are equipped with durable, school-compliant bags for the upcoming school year.
“We are incredibly grateful to Toyota for this generous grant, which allows us to invest directly in both our mothers and their children,” Robin Apelgren, Assistant Director of the Dream Center of Jackson, said. “Upgrading our computer class with modern technology is a massive step forward for our job readiness program. At the same time, being able to provide these clear backpacks gives our kids a practical, confident head start as they head into the classroom.”

Prysmian expanding with $100 Million Investment in Jackson
Global energy and digital connections solutions provider to create 100 new jobs; expansion will double the size of current facility
JACKSON, Tenn. – Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee, Deputy Gov. and Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Stuart C. McWhorter and Prysmian officials announced the company will expand operations in Madison County at 19 Bobrick Drive in the Jackson Madison County Industrial Park
Through the project, Prysmian will create 100 new jobs and invest $100 million to renovate and double the size of its current facility. This announcement marks the second expansion for Prysmian in Jackson since its 2018 acquisition of General Cable, which first established operations in Jackson in 1991. Additionally, the company plans to hold a groundbreaking celebration for the Jackson expansion on Oct. 15, 2026, and anticipate construction to be complete in approximately 20 months.
Founded in the late 1800s, Prysmian has grown to become one of the world’s largest cable and fiber manufacturers.
