A throwing error scored Kevin Medrano as the Jackson Generals defeated the Mississippi Braves, 7-6, Thursday, at the Ballpark at Jackson.
With the bases loaded, Medrano raced home from third after Mississippi third baseman Travis Demeritte mishandled a Dawel Lugo grounder.
Trying to force Medrano at home, Demeritte overshot his target and the Generals had the win.
The series with the Braves continues at 6:05 p.m., today, with Taylor Clarke (4-2, 2.70 ERA) taking the mound for the Generals – Max Fried (2-7, 5.79 ERA) for the Braves.
At 6:05 p.m., Saturday, it’s Star Wars Night presented by the Hardeman County Correctional Facility.
The Generals will be giving away a trip to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, and fireworks follow the game.
Additionally, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a Generals jersey t-shirt.
