JACKSON, Tenn. – Security Bank and Trust Company proudly celebrated the groundbreaking of its newest branch location in Jackson on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, marking an exciting milestone in the bank’s continued commitment to serving local families, businesses, and communities.
Community leaders, state and local officials, customers, and bank representatives gathered at the future site of the new branch located at 34 Exeter Road to commemorate the occasion and celebrate the bank’s expansion into the Madison County market.

The new branch will offer a full range of personal and business banking services, including consumer and commercial lending, deposit accounts, digital banking solutions, and personalized financial support tailored to local needs. They will continue to serve their customers from their current location at 429 Walker Road, Ste. B, office in Jackson until the new building is completed later this year.
The expansion into Jackson reflects the bank’s strategic growth and dedication to supporting economic development throughout the region. By establishing a presence in the market, Security Bank and Trust Company aims to strengthen relationships with local businesses, support community initiatives, and provide trusted financial guidance for generations to come.
Security Bank and Trust Company would also like to take this opportunity to publicly announce the addition to their Jackson team: Meg Montgomery as Vice President/Relationship Manager, Harbert Alexander, Jr. as EVP, Private Banking, and Anita Kay Archer, VP, Private Banking.

Meg Montgomery
As a third-generation banker with 28 years of banking experience, Montgomery specializes in Treasury Management, Private Banking, and Commercial Lending.
Montgomery moved to Jackson in 1996 and has enjoyed witnessing the growth and vitality of the Jackson/Madison County community throughout her 30 years there.
Together with her husband, Mike, they have found Jackson to be an ideal place to raise their two children. Currently, Montgomery serves as the chair of the Jackson/Madison County Industrial Development Board. Her passions include outreach initiatives for those in need, fundraising for Type 1 Diabetes research, supporting her children in their opportunities, and traveling with her family.
Montgomery stated, “I am thrilled to have this opportunity with Security Bank and Trust Company. I am excited to continue to help clients find financial solutions to reach their goals, while making banking as easy as possible for busy people. Harbert Alexander, Jr.
Harbert Alexander, Jr. is a third-generation banker who was born and raised in Jackson, TN. He graduated from the University School of Jackson in 1990 and Rhodes College in 1994. He also graduated with Honors from the Southeastern School of Banking at the Owen School of Management at Vanderbilt.
Alexander has worked in banking for 31 years and most recently spent the last 21 years at The Bank of Jackson, where he served as President and as a Director on the Board until the Bank’s sale in 2025.
He is a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, where he has served as a Deacon.
He has served on numerous Community Boards, including the Jackson Area Chamber of Commerce and the West TN Healthcare Foundation as Chairman. He is married to Tausha Carmack Alexander, and they have 4 daughters: Ridley (15), Dorothy (9), Elizabeth (9), and Mary Harbert (9).
Anita Kay Archer
A native of Memphis, TN, Anita Kay Archer graduated from East High School in Memphis.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and Sociology from Lambuth College in Jackson and a master’s degree in school supervision from Auburn University.
She and her husband Bob are parents of three children and grandparents of five grandchildren.
After many productive years in education in Enterprise and Auburn, Alabama, she moved to Jackson, where she became minister of programs at Jackson First United Methodist
Church for 27 years. In 2002, she made a career change to the Bank of Jackson as Vice- President of business development for 24 years.
Throughout the years, Archer has remained actively involved in her community and church, contributing her time to numerous boards and committees; presently serving as Board Chair of Kirkland Cancer, Chair of the Hospice Board of West Tennessee Healthcare, and Chair of the Leadership Council of United Way of West Tennessee.
