Jackson Energy Authority’s board of directors approved six resolutions during their monthly meeting at the Tennergy Center, Thursday.
“The JEA board received some good reports today from its senior management team,” Monte Jones said. “JEA’s broadband division reported paying off its bonds during the month of April, which was very good news.
“In the electric division, fuel cost adjustment amounts showed a decrease compared to prior periods which benefits our customers.”
Monte Jones is the chairman of the Board of Directors at Jackson Energy Authority.
“The electric division received another Diamond Award for reliability which was the ninth consecutive time, and which has been done by no other public power provider in the nation,” Monte said. Also, the board approved four items of business which included a potential grant for wastewater and improvements to the wastewater treatment plant, along with underground fiber installation and a generator for the telecom division.”
Resolutions –
- Approved the commitment of local matching funds for a Tennessee Economic and Community Development Grant application for a wastewater main extension at the Airport Industrial Park. – The matching funds total $136,000.
- Authorized the replacement of the diffusers at JEA’s Middle Fork Wastewater Treatment facility. Quinn Construction Corporation, Parsons, submitted the low bid of $118,000.
- Authorized labor-only construction agreement with TCOM, LLC for constructing the A1 Phase 1 Underground Fiber Route. – TCOM, Portland, TN, submitted the low bid of $294,650
- Authorized the purchase of a generator for the Telecom Division. – The new Rehlko Model KG150 Generator System Nixon Power Services, LaVergne, TN will cost $142,686.
