From the University School of Jackson
The University School of Jackson is proud to announce Stephen Britton as our new Offensive Coordinator.
Britton brings more than a decade of coaching experience across multiple successful Tennessee programs, along with a proven record of strategic leadership, player development, and championship success.
Most recently, Britton served as Offensive Coordinator at Boyd Buchanan School in Chattanooga, where he directed offensive strategy, practice planning, and film breakdown.
Prior to Boyd Buchanan, he was a key contributor to South Pittsburg High School’s 2023 1A State Championship team, acting as both the offensive and defensive coordinator, leading the Pirates to a 15–0 finish and helping set multiple program records.
In recognition of his success, Britton was named the 2025 DII-AA East Region Offensive Coach of the Year and earned multiple Tennessee Football Coaches Association honors, including 1A Assistant Coach of the Year.
Beyond wins and accolades, Britton is known for building programs rooted in discipline, humility, teamwork, and character development. His professional philosophy emphasizes excellence, integrity, and leadership — values that align strongly with the mission of USJ.
“I’m excited to add Coach Britton and his family to the USJ community. Coach Britton brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in coaching football and leading young men at the highest levels in Tennessee high school football. We are blessed to be able to add someone of his character and leadership experience. The future of USJ football is as bright as ever,” said Coach Derrick Pritchard.
Britton earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Middle Tennessee State University and holds multiple certifications in Physical Education, Health & Wellness, and Tennessee Personal Finance.
Please join us in welcoming Coach Britton, his wife Courtney, and their children, Brodhi, Hazel, and Navy, to the Bruin family.
