GameStop Closes South Jackson Store

Jackson, TN – January 10, 2026 – The GameStop location at 2103 South Highland Avenue in south Jackson has permanently closed as part of the retailer’s ongoing nationwide store reductions.

The store in Southridge Plaza is now locked up, with a prominent sign on the door stating “This Store Is Closing.” The GameStop website also lists the location as closed all day, every day.

This closure, effective around January 7, leaves Jackson with one remaining GameStop at the Shoppes at Columns on Vann Drive. The company attributes the shutdowns, including nine Tennessee stores this month, to declining physical game sales and the growing shift to digital downloads.

GameStop plans to close a significant number of additional locations by the end of its fiscal year on January 31.
