The Jackson Generals returned to first place in the Southern League’s North Division following Monday’s 4-3 walk-off win over the visiting Pensacola Blue Wahoos at the Ballpark at Jackson.
Jackson leads second-place Tennessee and Chattanooga by one half-game.
Rudy Flores delivered an RBI single for the Generals (22-15) in the bottom of the ninth – his third hit in five appearances.
Gabriel Moya (1-1, 2.12 ERA) picked up the win, and Kevin Cron hit his league-leading ninth home run.
Josh Taylor (3-2, 4.03 ERA) pitches for Jackson, and Keury Mella (0-3, 4.50 ERA) gets the start for Pensacola.
Following the Generals and Blue Wahoos final game of their five-game series at 12:05 p.m., Wednesday, Jackson hits the road for six games at Montgomery (one a make-up of a rain out in Jackson) and five at Jacksonville, before returning home to start a five-game set against the Mississippi Braves, May 30.
