Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti has sued Roblox, accusing the company of misleading parents about child safety on its platform and violating the state’s consumer protection laws.
The lawsuit claims Roblox attracts kids with promises of a fun, safe space but prioritizes profits over protections, allowing predators easier access despite known risks.
Skrmetti called it “the digital equivalent of a creepy cargo van at a playground,” saying the company cut safety measures to boost earnings while falsely claiming safety as a top priority.
Partnering with a Nashville law firm, the AG seeks to force changes. Roblox denies the allegations, insisting safety is core to its design and that it continually improves protections.
