Nashville SC Captures First-Ever Championship, Brings Lamar Hunt Trophy Home

History has been made in Music City. Nashville Soccer Club has brought home the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup Trophy for the first time in the club’s six-year history after defeating Austin FC 2–1 on October 1, 2025.

Nashville’s stars delivered when it mattered most. Hany Mukhtar and Sam Surridge, both considered potential MVP candidates, found the back of the net to give Nashville the edge in a hard-fought final. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Brian Schwake was outstanding between the posts—recording seven saves, including a crucial first-half penalty stop that helped seal the victory.

The win not only marks a historic milestone for the club but also punches Nashville’s ticket to the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup (CCC), one of the most prestigious tournaments in North American soccer. The competition will take place between February and May 2026, giving Nashville SC a chance to test itself against some of the region’s elite teams.

With their first major trophy now in the cabinet, Nashville SC has officially entered a new era—one defined by championship pedigree and international opportunity.
