From the Jackson Police Department –

At approximately 6:30 p.m., Sunday, January 22, Jackson Police Department officers responded to the area of Idlewild Street for a call of shots fired.

Officers located an individual who was suffering from appeared to be a non-life threatening gunshot injury.

The individual was transported by the Medical Center EMS to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

The investigation is ongoing.
