From the Jackson Police Department –
The Jackson Police Department is investigating two early (Sunday) morning shootings.
The first occurred around 3:30 a.m., when officers were called to a report of a shooting in the parking lot Waffle House located at 24 Casey Jones Drive.
A female victim was in her vehicle when it was shot into. The female victim later arrived at a local hospital with area with minor injuries from broken glass.
The shooting appears to be targeted.
Then around 4:20 a.m., an adult male arrived at an area hospital and had been shot. The victim stated he was a passenger in a vehicle traveling on Hollywood Drive near Miller Avenue, when the vehicle he was in was shot multiple times. The victim told police he believed the driver had also been shot. Officers located the vehicle in the area of Hollywood Drive and Airways Boulevard.
An adult male was discovered shot inside the vehicle and was transported to an area hospital. This adult male victim is listed in critical condition.

The shootings are under investigation. These shooting incidents appear to be targeted and not random; the safety of the community is a top priority and the investigation is ongoing.
