From the Jackson Police Department –

Officers with the Jackson Police Department are investigating the shooting death of Nicholas Perry, 33, which occurred in the 100 block of West Deaderick Street.

On March 22, at approximately 8:35 p.m., officers were dispatched to a ShotSpotter alert in the area of West Deaderick Street, where they discovered a deceased individual who apparently died from a gunshot.

Officers made contact with another gunshot victim, whose injury appeared to be non-life threatening.

Emergency Medical Personnel transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment.

During the preliminary stages of the investigation, investigators developed a suspect who is in custody.

Jackson Police are not looking for anybody else, but the investigation is ongoing.
