Madison County Sheriff’s Office Investigates Fatal Domestic Incident

Madison County, TN – On March 1, 2025 at approximately 4:07 p.m., deputies with the Madison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Diggs Road in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival, deputies determined that the incident involved an altercation between an adult stepson and his stepfather.

Preliminary investigation revealed that during the course of the domestic dispute, a firearm was discharged, resulting in the stepfather sustaining a gunshot wound.

Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, and the stepfather was transported to a local hospital by paramedics.

Despite medical efforts, the victim later succumbed to his injuries.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division is actively investigating the incident. The case remains ongoing, and investigators are working closely with the District Attorney’s Office to review the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
