West Tennessee Healthcare is pleased to announce Deena Kail as the 2018 President’s Award recipient.
According to a press release, the President’s Award, which is awarded annually, recognizes a Department Director that goes above and beyond their day-to-day responsibilities by exhibiting a selfless manner within their career, community and civic involvement. Kail was presented with the honor during the April Department Directors’ Meeting.
Kail has been an employee of West Tennessee Healthcare for 36 years. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration, and is currently serving as the Executive Director of the West Tennessee Women’s Center and Ayers Children’s Medical Center.
West Tennessee Healthcare President and Chief Executive Officer James Ross said, “Deena Kail exemplifies all of the qualities of a servant leader. Her passion and compassion for her staff, patients and community is clearly evident to all she encounters. She truly exemplifies our culture to improve the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve, as she goes above and beyond meeting the need and making a difference.”
Kail said winning the President’s Award is a humbling experience, “I love taking care of our patients, and I’m so grateful to be able to do what I can every day to make a difference in the lives of our families.”
Kail is active with numerous professional, community and civic organizations, including the Tennessee Initiative for Perinatal Quality Care. She has been instrumental in improving and expanding neonatal care for rural West Tennessee, advocating for grieving parents, and implementing specialized emergency care for expecting mothers.
