Morris Merriweather has resigned his position as a member of the Jackson-Madison County School Board.

The Madison County Commission will vote to accept his resignation during Tuesday’s meeting at the West Tennessee AgResearch and Education Center.

Once vacated, the commission will have 30 days to fill the position.

I wish the community well as I make my plan to vacate the city.
Best wishes to all. It time for our community to quit fearing Master and recognize we are free to disagree in the interest of our children. If we continue to allow them to divide us, (our so called smart people, educators, religious community leaders, civic rights organizations, child, advocates, sororities, fraternities)our children will continue to present discipline problems that will lead to the deteriorating of our communities, and continue to babies dying and mothers crying and the pipeline to the prison.
Farewell my community you had a leader that were willing to lead the fight but many were afraid Master may not like them. Well, I leave with thoughts of nothing but the best as Master continue hiring them to educate our children, while buying our funeral homes to bury us and prison to retain us. Thanks to those who supported me. God bless our community.
