Antonio James, who has been charged with First Degree Murder in the Tuesday shooting death of his mother, Ermateen James, will make his next court appearance at 1:30 p.m., March 21, at Jackson City Court.
He was formally arraigned Thursday.
He remains in custody at the Madison County Jail.
According to a report by the Jackson Police Department, around 6 p.m., March 5, 2019, Officers responded to a shooting at 239 Highview Street.
Ermateen James, 52, was found unresponsive, inside her home with a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Investigators developed the victim’s son, Antonio James, 37, of Jackson, as the suspect.
Investigators received a tip about where James could be found. Around 10 p.m., James was located at a home on the 100 block of Tomlin Street in Jackson and taken into custody.
